Gill, 61, passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997, after a brief and sudden illness. He was born in Akron and was a resident of Tallmadge for the past 28 years. Educated at Akron Central High School and the University of Akron. He spent the first 34 years of his career at B.

F. Goodrich Co. in various managerial positions. In 1988 he joined RJF International Corp. as vice president and general manager of Koroseal Wallcoverings.

Gill was a member of various business organizations and served as president of the Coded Film and Fabric Association (CFFA). He was a member of The American Legion Post 255. Mr. Gill was an active member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, and was involved in many charitable organizations. A kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather, he always had a great outlook on life.

He had a strong character, positive attitude, timely sense of humor, and a warm smile. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn Gill; and grandson, Benjamin Dudek. L. Herman Florence N. L. Herman, age 74, of Massillon, died Friday evening at Massillon Community Hospital. Her death followed a lengthy illness.

She was born April 21, 1923, in Massillon, the daughter of the late Edward and Gladys (Guyette) LeClair, and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a homemaker and had attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Disabled American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary, and the A.A.R.P. 3336. She is survived her husband, Arthur 0.

Herman, Sr. of the home; daughter, Shelly Kay Herman of Massillon; sons, Arthur 0. He was employed by Rockwell Corporation for 43 years, retiring in 1978. MANTUA John Lorinchack, born May 2, 1926, in Detroit, died Friday, Nov. 14. He the son of John and Mary (Vargo), Lorinchack, Sr. He made his home in Mantua, Ohio for over 30 years. He retired supervisor at Walton Hills Ford Motor after 25 years of service.

Kenneth Robert Mallabone Kenneth Robert Mallabone passed away on Friday, November 14, 1997, after a long illness. A son of John Thomas Mallabone and Celia Wilkins, who both immigrated from England, he was born in Wellsburg, W. July 23, He married Helen Virginia Phillips in Washington, May 23, 1934.

They moved to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, in 1940, and remained there until 1976, when they retired to Titusville, Fla. He often helped the and needy, especially children of poor, Appalachian Mountains, giving countless hours of his own time and personal resources. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen and his son, Kenneth Robert Mallabone, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, E. Louise Baltes (Chuck); son, Jay Thomas Mallabone; grandchildren, Colleen L.

J. C. McHood J. C. McHood, 77, passed away Nov.

14, 1997, after a year battle with cancer. He was born in Smithville, and lived most of his life in the area. He retired in 1983 after 30 years as an ironworker for Ironworkers Local 17. He also had 15 years of service with Goodyear Tire served in the Army during World War Il, and participated in the Invasion of Normandy. Mr.

McHood was an avid gardener and a member of the C.C.C. Preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, William, Frank, Letha and Stith McHood, he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy daughters, Linda (Ron) Caldwell Mogadore, Kathy (Bob) Banar of Uniontown, Connie McGowan, Karen McHood, both of Akron; sisters, Marteen (Ed) Tigyer and Avis Seesdorf, both of Akron, Jean (Joseph) Lupica of Cleveland; brothers, James McHood of Cleveland, Harold (Sybil) McHood of Akron, Jack (Pat) McHood of Uniontown; grandchildren, Justin, Jocelyn, Chris and Rachael Banar; and many other relatives. Moore, 37, passed away unexpectedly Nov. 1997. in Canton, he was a graduate of the University of Akron, and was currently employed as a corporate pilot with American Freightways. David was a former captain in the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a pilot. Charles W. Rankin Charles W. Rankin, 80, of Boardman, Ohio, passed away Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, at his residence. He had attended Cuyahoga Falls High School, Akron Univeristy and the University of Pittsburgh.

He had worked as a welding engineer and teacher, and was involved with industrial sales, retiring in Findley Welding Co. of Youngstown. After retirement, he became an ordained minister, joining the staff of Calvary Assembly of God in Boardman, where he was in charge of pastoral care. During World War I1, he worked at Goodyear Aircraft as a chief welding inspector, and also for the Bureau of Aeronautics. He is survived by his wife, Elsie R.

(Cummins); son, Rev. C. Kenneth Rankin of Fremont, daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Webster of Dodge City, 10 grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. He preceded in death by parents; son, William Rankin; an infant daughter; and brother, Robert Rankin.

She was also an avid reader and a lifelong Cleveland, Ellen Indians will be fan. sadly missed by her many good friends in the Akron area. She is survived by daughters, Sherry Rose of the home, Mary Lee Smith of Uhrichsville, Patricia (Mike) Kohl of New Philadelphia; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was the widow of Forrest Rose, who passed on in 1976.

At her request, Mary Ellen was cremated and wished for no service to be held. Marys in Dennison. Frances G. Rosenthal Frances G. Rosenthal, 96, died Friday, Nov. 14, 1997.

Born in New York she was a resident of Akron since' 1951. Mrs. Rosenthal was the beloved mother and mother-in-law of Marilyn and Paul Walker, and Dorothy Casull; dearest grandmother of Laura Degyansky, Hal and David Walker, Brian, Arthur and Deborah Casull; and greatgrandmother of Chandra, Brandon, Jodi, Jeffrey, Kelsey, Cory, Tommy, Lisa, and Nancy. She is also survived by one great-great-grandchild. Graveside service will be held TODAY, 12:30 p.m.

James Earl Shacklette BARBERTON James Earl Shacklette, 57, beloved husband of Vivian Cline Shacklette, passed through the gates of heaven on November 13, 1997, at his home. His wife and much-loved priest, Father Rick Arko of St. Mary's Parish, were attending him, ending a four battle with cancer and heart disease. Jim was preceded in death by father, Martin Earl Shacklette, and his sister, Melba Shacklette Carlton.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Vivian; dear mother, Anne Goodwin of Barberton; cherished daughters, Lisa Shacklette and Traci Ames of Cape Coral, Florida; his wife's daughter, two sons; eight loving grandchildren of Florida and Georgia; the children of his late sister, residing in Texas and California; also, his very special Garrett family cousins. Jim was a 1958 graduate of Barberton High School. He was a talented product design engineer in the window building products industry. We are grateful to the doctors and nurses who cared for Jim, to Crystal and Bill Cox, everyone at the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy, especially our dearest neighbor Helen, and Jim's "Guardian Angel," Father Rick Arko. They were always there for us.
