Exciting News! We are thrilled to share that WSU Social Work Professor Bridget Weller has been selected as a recipient of a grant from the Kaiser Permanente Center for Gun Violence Research and Education. The project, A Culturally-Responsive, Mixed Methods Study of a Community Violence Intervention Program in Detroit Michigan, aims to understand the impact of FORCE Detroit's Keepers Program which utilizes violence interrupters, individuals from the community with lived experience who will provide supportive, culturally empathetic services to ensure participants have the resources needed to circumvent or recover from violent crimes in Detroit. Thank you to Kaiser Permanente and the Health Alliance for Violence Intervention for supporting community-led research to prevent gun violence. Together, we can make a difference!
