They adjourned for tea at 5 p.m. again returning to the beach until 7 p.m. The party left for home at that hour and, travelling via Gaston and Strathaven, arrived in Cleland about 9 p.m. thus ending another splendid day which added further laurels to the committee and friends responsible for the outing. GIFTS AND THANKS During the luncheon gifts were presented to all the party by the officials.

Pickering as a watchman and is still working.

In his leisure time, Mr Mullen is keenly interested in the game of draughts and until quite recently was president and secretary of the Lanarkshire Draughts Association. ACTIVE INTEREST native of Ardrossan, Mrs Mullen was well-known as singer in her younger days and during her life here has taken an active interest in several organisations. A member of Wishaw Co-operative West-End Women's Guild, she held the post of president for two spells of four-and-a-half years and worked with the late Mr Alex.
