(FRANK), on May 16, 1999. Chief McCrorken enlisted in M. Company, 69th Infantry on December 1, 1939. He was federalized in October of 1940 and deployed with the regiment to Hawaii on Easter Sunday 1942. He saw combat at Makin in 1943, Saipan in 1944 and Okinawa in 1945.

In addition to the Good Conduct Medal, Sgt. McCrorken received the Purple Heart the Bronze Star after being wounded on Saipan. After in M. and service companies, rising to the the war, he in the 69th, serving rank of 1st. Sgt.

before accepting a warrant commission in 1951. Chief McCrorken retired in 1980 on his 60th birthday having served his country and state for 40 years. Following his retirement from active service, the chief remained active in the Veterans Corps.
